George Frideric Handel
Coronation Anthems
Zadok The Priest
The King Shall Rejoice
My Heart Is Inditing
Alfreda Hodgson, contralto
Ian Partridge, tenor
Christopher Keyte, bass
Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened
Solomon: Chorus: 'From The Censer Curling Rise'
The Ambrosian Singers
The Menuhin Festival Orchestra
Yehudi Menuhin
It must be pointed out that the second side of this LP has a few 'jumps' which, we suspect is from some dust in the grooves so some careful cleaning should remove the offending particles. The price reflects this problem.
The actual performance is good and the balance excellent. One thing which always makes us laugh is the constant repetition of the word 'Happy' in the 'Solomon' excerpts. How did the choir not fall about laughing at this delightful rendering of text.
Recorded: 1970

Our records have always been handled with care and stored correctly. However as we are disposing of our entire record collection, time precludes us playing every single item to check whether there are any faults that are not apparent from a purely visual check. To avoid any dispute buyers should be aware that they buy our vinyl with the above proviso in mind.
