Richard Wagner
Die Walküre - Act II
Kirsten Flagstad, Lotte Lehmann, Kathryn Maisle, Lauritz Melchior, Friedrich Schorr, Emmanuel List
Orchestra of the San Francisco Opera Association
Fritz Reiner
(13 November 1936)
This is the original vinyl release on a Private Label of the Broadcast of Act 2 of Walküre from San Francisco. The sound is fairly poor but, considering it was in 1936 - it is not too bad. The singers are the best at the time and the record ends before the finale of the act when the broadcast has obviously over run and the announcer has to cut in. It is very funny. Highly recommended to all addicts of Wagner.
Recorded: 1936
The Golden Age of Opera EJS 234
Please remember this LP is a private pressing and which was sold (from a little man's basement!) without a cover. This cover was prepared by the original owner.
Condition:
Vinyl - Good, clean and unmarked.
Sleeve - Clean and unmarked.
Cover - Intact with some discolouration, scuffing and wear on edges.
Please remember
- owing to their weight, the postal charge for LP's is expensive.
- our records have always been handled with care and stored correctly. However as we are disposing of our entire record collection, time precludes us playing every single item to check whether there are any faults that are not apparent from a purely visual check. To avoid any dispute buyers should be aware that they buy our vinyl with the above proviso in mind.
