Fritz Wunderlich, tenor
When Fritz Wunderlich died between 'takes' in the recording of Karajan's version of Haydn's 'The Creation' (that is why there are two tenors on the CDs) the opera world was shocked. He was at the height of his career and was in demand all over the world. He could have had many years of singing in front of him but the music world was never to witness it. This LP shows a little of this remarkable tenor's talent. His ease of delivery and beautiful tone has to be heard to be believed. He could sing Operetta, Grand Opera, Lieder, and lyric roles with ease. If you don't know his voice then please, make an effort to get to know it - if fact, why not buy this LP?
