A 1936 recording? Ahhhhh!!! Seriously, considering their age, these 78rpm transfers are excellent. The sound may be a little dated but the full orchestral quailty and balance is first class. The casting is almost perfect but some may find Lorenz a little mannered. Tietjen's conducting is expansive and unhurried and his 'Mein Herr und Gott!' from 'Lohengrin' is thrilling - just listen to those timpani. As well as filling up this LP the 'Tannhäuser' excerpt is a nice addition.

Our records have always been handled with care and stored correctly. However as we are disposing of our entire record collection, time precludes us playing every single item to check whether there are any faults that are not apparent from a purely visual check. To avoid any dispute buyers should be aware that they buy our vinyl with the above proviso in mind.
