Okay, it is all very nice to hear Rachmaninov bashing our his own Concerti - BUT, this LP has the Great Man playing some miniatures. He invests as much care on these 17 items as he does with the more substantial works and the result is an utter delight. There are so many gems of interpretation on the LP that it is difficult to single out a single highlight. The recordings were made over many years so the sound is variable but with playing such as this, who the hell cares?
