Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky
The Nutcracker
Orchestra and Children's Chorus of the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow
Gennady Rozhdestvensky
This is a very idiomatic recording of Tchaikovsky's delightful ballet. Rozhdestvensky's conducting verges of the high powered and he manages to get away with it. There is plenty of life and bounce in interpretation and the orchestra play wonderfully. You will catch plenty of detail in the score which you will not hear on other performances. Especially delightful are the kids who sing charmingly during the snowflake section. The recording is forward with plenty of impact.

To avoid any dispute buyers should be aware that they buy our vinyl with the above proviso in mind.
