Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Romeo and Juliet
Francesca da Rimini
Boston Symphony Orchestra
Charles Munch
Munch was famous for delivering lyrical yet dramatic interpretations of works and his treatment of these two Tchaikovsky Overtures allows him to show off these talents to great effect. The sound is a little dated but the recordxng has plenty of impact. For those of us who always anticipate the tam tam in the 'Francesca' will be sadly disappointed as, at the time, the Boston Symphony instrument was more like a dustbin lid - and a very SMALL dustbin lid at that! The LP has suffered a little over the years.
Recorded: 1957

Our records have always been handled with care and stored correctly. However as we are disposing of our entire record collection, time precludes us playing every single item to check whether there are any faults that are not apparent from a purely visual check. To avoid any dispute buyers should be aware that they buy our vinyl with the above proviso in mind.
